Grooming

Chance has short hair, but he does shed a LOT--that's why I swear by the FURminator deShedding Tool. I use it in conjunction with the Kong ZoomGroom, which loosens the hairs so the FURminator can snag them. I've used several different shampoos over the years; top marks go to TrueBlue Puppy Shampoo, Bio-Groom Super White, and FURminator deShedding Shampoo (call me crazy but I think it works--I feel like it makes the hair really slippery and easier to brush away). My mom, who is older and has arthritis, has a dog with long hair, so she got the Go Pet Club Dog Grooming Table so she wouldn't have to contort herself for long periods of time working tangles out. And we both swear by the Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Tool--it's like a tiny sander and it grinds down dog nails quickly and cordlessly, leaving nails smooth and rounded instead of sharp and talon-like.
